Jerome Thomas's agent says the winger has held positive talks with Crystal Palace and could join the club on July 1.
The 30-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the month after West Brom made it clear they had no intention of offering him a new deal.
Baggies boss Steve Clarke used Thomas sparingly last season, sending him out on loan to Championship club Leeds midway through the campaign.
Palace boss Ian Holloway is now ready to offer Thomas another crack at the Premier League and the player's agent, former Eagles player Tony Finnigan, says talks with the Selhurst Park outfit are progressing well.
"We're looking for everything to go through on time for him to sign on July 1," Finnigan exclusively told Advertiser Sport.
"Talks are ongoing but they're positive.
"He's spoken to Ian Holloway. Talks went well in terms of the football and what he was looking for him to do, and he's been an admirer of him for a long time.
"There were around ten teams interested and there was one other Premier League club but we won't be doing that now because we want to pursue Palace."
