Winger's deal hopes

C PalaceCrystal Palace midfielder John Oster has stated that he wants to stay at the club but as yet he has not been offered a new deal.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock has yet to decide whether or not to offer the player a new deal when his current contract runs out in January, but Oster has made it plain he would like to stay if possible.

He told the Advertiser: "I'd like to stay, there's a great set of lads at the club and as long as we keep getting results we can climb the table and get in the mix.

"I've not spoken to the manager yet - I'm supposed to be meeting up with my agent this week and we will be speaking about that.

"He (the agent) is trying to tie up a meeting with the manager and as long as I'm in the team then hopefully there will be something there for me.

"But at the end of the day you've got to perform and that's what I'm trying to do.

"Performances merit things and I'm no different to anyone else - there's no one who should be having contracts given to them, you have to earn them.

"Hopefully that's what I'm doing at the minute."
