Burnett backs Daggers to improve

Dagenham manager Wayne Burnett felt his side were good value for their 2-0 home victory against 10-man Wycombe.

A goal in each half proved enough for the in-form Daggers, who remain on the fringe of the play-off places having lost just once at home so far this season.

After watching Afolabi Obafemi and Rhys Murphy provide the goals which eased his side past the spirited Chairboys, Burnett said: "We deserved the win. We've been through a little bit of a sticky patch lately, but there's no doubt we did enough.

"All the players put a good shift in, but I knew they'd have to do.

"This division is getting harder and harder so we just have to keep getting better and better.

"It's been a good day and one where we did look dangerous.

"On our day we can be a threat to any side in League Two. The quality is there in the squad, and I think the players know that.

"As long as they keep showing that belief and really getting at teams, then the results will keep coming.

"It's another victory to build on, it's three more very important points.

"We've got a busy period coming up so we need to keep the confidence levels high. This result ought to give everyone a lift."
