Baggies join Rams in Swans ace race

DerbyWest Brom have joined the race to sign Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde from Swansea but face a major battle with Derby for him.

Swansea are very keen on keeping the player who helped them to promotion last season but he looks to be on his way if a club pay their chairman Huw Jenkins' valuation of £2m.

Baggies boss Tony Mowbray is looking to add to his squad as he prepares for life in the Premiership and Derby boss Paul Jewell is building a squad that will launch an assault on the Championship title after last season's debacle in the Premiership.

Bodde still has two years on his contract in South Wales, but has hinted he would like a move away with Derby his preferred choice. However now that the Baggies are ready to move, the Premiership may prove too difficult to turn down.
