Derby manager Nigel Clough gave Theo Robinson a big pat on the back even though the striker failed to find the net in a 0-0 draw with Ipswich at Pride Park.

Robinson twice saw shots flash just wide as the npower Championship game ended in stalemate but he was a winner in Clough's eyes.

"I thought Theo was excellent," he said.

"As a striker, his all-round game was great and the only thing missing for him was a goal which he thoroughly deserved.

"I said to him that sometimes as a striker he will get his reward on Monday, if he plays, or next Saturday without playing as well. He was good in the air, tried to hold it and was a threat with his pace.

"He's been with us 15 months now and there's been a big improvement in that time. He is learning and he listens all the time. He's probably our number one striker at the moment."
