Defender leaves but keeper stays

DerbyDerby defender Mo Camara has signed for Blackpool on a one-month loan but Stephen Bywater's move to Tottenham has collapsed.

To avoid an early injury crisis at Bloomfield Road, Seasiders boss Simon Grayson has swooped to land Camara who managed just two outings for Derby last term, one of them in a Carling Cup game against Blackpool.

The defender did look all set to join Norwich City after he spent part of last season on loan at Carrow Road, but despite making 21 appearances for the Norfolk side, the Canaries decided not to sign the defender.

If the defender impresses at Bloomfield Road Grayson may move to make Camara's stay permanent.

Meanwhile, Bywater will be staying with the Rams after Tottenham pulled out of the race to sign him without giving a reason.

Rams boss Paul Jewell said: "I got a phone call to say for whatever reason the deal had fallen through but it was nothing to do with Stephen. I can't say I'm disappointed because I think he's looked very sharp this season and done well."
