Derby and Bristol City are in talks over goalkeeper Frank Fielding, Press Association Sport understands.
Fielding, along with Derby's other keeper Adam Legzdins, has been told he is free to leave Pride Park this summer if the club receive a suitable offer after Rams boss Nigel Clough signed Lee Grant as first pick between the posts.
City, relegated from the Championship last season, are currently without a senior goalkeeper following the departures of Tom Heaton and Dean Gerken.
The Robins have contacted Derby and negotiations are thought to be proceeding well with Fielding possibly making the switch the Ashton Gate before the end of the week.
The former England Under-21 international would join former Rams team-mates Steve Davies and Stephen Pearson at Bristol City.
