Derby turn back on Bodde

DerbyDerby County will turn their attention elsewhere after refusing to increase their offer for Swansea midfielder Ferrie Bodde.

The Rams have said they will not pay over the odds for the 26-year-old Dutch midfielder after their £1.5million bid was rejected by Swansea.

The newly-promoted Championship side want £2million up front for Bodde but it looks as though Derby will not be held to ransom, with Rams chairman of football Adam Pearson saying they will now look elsewhere.

"He [Ferrie Bodde] is our first choice but we are not prepared to pay over the odds," Pearson told the Derby Telegraph.

"We've got a couple of other targets we are looking at. They are two extremely experienced European players and we will turn our attention to them."
