Jewell could even wait until shortly before the first ball of the new season is kicked to bring in new blood ahead of an assault on the Championship.
"We did a lot of work before the season ended and it's good to see that work has been successful. We're ahead of everyone else in terms of bringing people in," Jewell told the official club website.
"It certainly doesn't end here, though. We'll be looking to bring players in right through to the end of the transfer window."
Jewell is confident his early forays in the transfer market will pay dividends as his new signings adjust to their new surroundings.
"That's the idea," he added. "The signings we've been able to sort out quickly will be in the side right from the start of the season but that's by no means the end of it.
"I'll be looking at players all the way up until the start of the season.
"If someone becomes available in August and I think they can improve the team, I'll try and go for them."
