Jewell's triple deal hopes

DerbyDerby look set to land Rob Hulse and Marlon King after boss Paul Jewell confirmed bids for two strikers.

The Rams chief is also eyeing a midfielder as he looks to rebuild the Pride Park squad for a fresh assault on the Premier League after last season's morale-denting campaign in the top flight.

Jewell told the Evening Telegraph: "We have made offers for two strikers and a midfield player, we are hoping the deals will happen.

"We are hoping a deal for the midfielder might be sorted out by the end of the week and one, if not both of the strikers, can get done maybe today or the day after."

However, Derby's hopes of landing Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde from Swansea are over after he signed a new two-year deal.
