Loan man tipped for Rams start

New loan signing Andrejs Pereplotkins is believed to be in line for his Derby debut against Doncaster in their Championship opener.

The 23-year-old only joined the Rams this week on a season-long deal from Skonto Riga, but has been given international clearance and is expected to play on the left-hand side of midfield on Saturday.

Meanwhile another summer signing, Kris Commons, is the favourite to fill the berth on the right side of the midfield.

Paul Jewell has indicated that Robbie Savage is unlikely to start but last season's skipper could be part of the matchday squad. Goalkeeper Lewis Price, defender Lewin Nyatanga and midfielder Giles Barnes are not available.
