McEveley returns to Derby

DerbyJay McEveley has returned to Derby after Preston manager Alan Irvine decided not to extend his loan spell at Deepdale.

The full-back's month-long stay came to an end at the weekend and Irvine, who threatened changes after the collapse against strugglers Southampton, decided against keeping him.

Irvine also has Callum Davidson and Michael Hart close to making their returns to the first-team fold.

"I would like to thank Jay for the good work he has put in during his time at the club and wish him all the best for his future at Pride Park," Irvine told the club's official website.
