Rams ace rejects Wolves move

DerbyDerby midfielder David Jones has turned down the chance to join Wolves after the two clubs agreed a fee for the player.

Having been a key figure in the Rams' promotion-winning campaign in 2006/07, Jones spent much of last season on the sidelines have been struck by several niggling injuries.

The former Manchester United man did return to the team in March, going on to make nine appearances, but the 23-year-old doesn't feature in Paul Jewell's first-team plans.

Wolves did have an offer accepted but Jones decided against a move to Molineux after holding talks with Derby's Championship rivals.

Jewell told the Evening Telegraph: "We agreed a deal with Wolves for David Jones but he's rejected it. As far as I'm aware, I don't think they could agree (personal terms)."
