Rams ahead in transfer race

Rams boss Paul Jewell has claimed that Derby are way ahead of the game when it comes to the transfer market this summer.

Jewell has already made seven signings as he builds a side capable off mounting a serious Championship challenge and he says the work done in pre season is now paying off.

"We did a lot of work before the season ended and it's good to see that work has been successful. We're ahead of everyone else in terms of bringing people in," said Jewell.

"It certainly doesn't end here though. We'll be looking to bring players in right through to the end of the transfer window."
