Rams chase striker

Derby manager Paul Jewell has suggested he could make Latvian striker Andrey Pereplotkin his next signing.

International Pereplotkin impressed while on trial at the Rams this week and Jewell could move to make the move permanent.

The 23-year-old currently plays for Latvian side Skonto FC and played well in the Rams' friendly against Dutch side FC Utrecht.

The game ended 2-2 and Jewell was pleased with Perplotkin's performance.

He said: "He did very well in training on Thursday and Friday and has done well again (against Utrecht). We'll see what the situation is."
