Derby boss Nigel Clough has claimed the Rams are close to agreeing terms with Exeter City's Dean Moxey following talks with the player.
Derby are thought to have agreed a deal of around £300,000 for the left-sided player, who can operate in midfield or in defence, and Clough is optimistic about completing the signing of the highly-rated 23-year-old before too long.
"We've had a chat with Dean and he has had a look around Moor Farm, which he was obviously impressed with," the Rams boss told the Telegraph.
"We're getting close and it's a good opportunity for him if he wants to take it. I think he wants to come.
"We've just got to agree one or two small things with him but I hope he sees the opportunity that is there for him, to play in the Championship for a club like Derby."
