Rams close in on winger swoop

DerbyDerby have handed a trial to Galway United winger James O'Shea, with the two clubs already agreeing a fee for the player.

The Republic of Ireland international could feature in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Crewe this week as he looks to earn a permanent deal at Pride Park.

Galway are currently managed by former Derby defender Jeff Kenna, who revealed that a fee has been agreed between the two clubs and that the Irish Premier side are 'happy' with the deal.

Speaking about the trialist, Paul Jewell revealed: "We are having a look at him for a week. If we like what we see and he likes us maybe we can do a deal."
