Everton boss David Moyes is pondering a move for striker James Vaughan who is still wanted by Derby County.

Vaughan has fought his way into the first team at Goodison Park of late and Moyes may decide he is too valuable to allow to leave but if he is not going to get a game then a loan move could be on the cards.

Everton are expected to land Jermaine Beckford from Leeds in the summer and if that deal goes through then Vaughan may find himself surplus to requirements so a move away on loan might be in everyone's interest.

Certainly Derby County are still interested in taking the striker back to Pride Park with Rams boss Nigel Clough telling the Derby Telegraph: "We spoke to Everton yesterday (Monday). If he did not go anywhere and he is available for loan, the agreement still stands that we will get first option on him."
