Rams hit back at Foxes claims

DerbyLeicester chairman Milan Mandaric's suggestion they could be re-signing midfielder Robbie Savage has been rubbished by Derby.

Mandaric claimed the League One side were pondering a possible summer swoop for the 33-year-old, who has been linked with a move away from Pride Park for a large part of the close-season.

He had told BBC Radio Leicester: "His name was mentioned but we've got to look at the make-up of the team.

"We'll look at whether we need an additional player like Robbie and make a decision at that time."

However BBC Radio Derby claims a Rams spokesperson has scotched any possibility that Savage would be rejoining his former club, despite boss Paul Jewell recently admitting he has not been happy with the former Wales international's performances in training during pre-season which is why he has yet to feature in a friendly game.
