Rams linked with Baggies ace

DerbyDerby boss Paul Jewell has denied that the Rams have been in contact with Kevin Phillips but has not ruled out a move for the striker.

The much travelled frontman is due to run out of contract at the Hawthorns later this month and is looking for a new two year deal, with the Baggies only offering a one-year deal.

There are plenty of clubs ready to step in and snatch the striker away if he fails to reach an agreement, although West Brom say they remain hopeful that Phillips will stay.

Rams boss Paul Jewell has denied claims he has been in touch with the striker, but has not ruled out a move in the future.

"I've heard all the reports but we've not spoken to Kevin Phillips," said Rams manager Jewell.

"I don't know where that's all coming from. Of course, that's not to say we're not interested - I'm not saying that. We just haven't spoken to him."
