Saints complete Ram raid

Southampton have completed the signing of young midfielder Lee Holmes from Derby on a free transfer.

The 17-year-old, who had fallen out of contract at Pride Park, passed a medical at St Mary's this afternoon before putting pen-to-paper on a deal with Saints.

Holmes became the youngest ever player to turn out for the Rams when he made his debut at just 15, but he has failed to progress as much as the Rams would have liked and they have decided to let him go.
