Striker injury blow

DerbyDerby's new striker Rob Hulse will have to wait before making his Rams debut after picking up a slight groin problem.

The striker, newly arrived from Sheffield United, picked up the injury playing for the Blades last week and he will now miss tonight's clash with Oldham.

Stephen Davis and Kris Commons will also miss the match with hamstring injuries and Alan Stubbs is out with a thigh problem but could be back for the clash with Mansfield on Saturday.

"Hopefully, Davies, Commons and Stubbs will be OK for the weekend," Jewell told the Derby Telegraph.

"Davies was out of football for a long time last season with an injury. He's only 20 and he's still growing. We have worked him hard pre-season, asked him to do a lot, and he has picked up a niggle.

"It happens pre-season, it annoys me but it's just one of those things.

"As frustrating as it is, we have to make sure we don't push them back too early and set them back."
