Striker stakes his claim

DerbyDerby striker Emanuel Villa has staked his claim for a place in the starting line up against Reading after netting a hat-trick.

The Argentinian, known as Tito, netted three in the win at Brighton to put the Rams through to the fourth round of the Carling Cup, where they will face Leeds United next week at Pride Park.

The striker got his first start in six matches down at Brighton and has given Paul Jewell a selection headache for the clash with Reading this weekend.

Rob Hulse was rested for the clash at Brighton but is also expected to be fit to face the Royals.

Jewell told the Telegraph: "Bring it on, I did not want to risk Rob Hulse against Brighton because of the bang he took in the ribs.

"I named him on the bench but it would have been a last resort had we needed to bring him on.

"Tito took his goals well and the more selection headaches I have, the better."
