Swans make Rams wait

DerbySwansea have confirmed they have received an improved offer from Derby for Ferrie Bodde, but are in 'no rush' to make a decision.

The third bid made by Paul Jewell is understood to match Swansea's valuation of £2million for the player, but Swans chairman Huw Jenkins says they will discuss matters before they consider selling.

The Rams are hopeful Bodde will be a Derby player by next week but Jenkins insists that Swansea are still keen to keep the player.

The Swansea chairman said: "Derby have made an improved offer but nothing has really changed from our point of view.

"Yes, we have made clear our thoughts on Ferrie's value but only because people have asked the question."

Jenkins added: "It doesn't change the fact that we don't want him to leave. Whether he does or not will ultimately be a football issue."

"For us, it's a question of whether Roberto and Ferrie feel he can play for us and be happy next season.

"As far as Derby are concerned, I have told them I will come back to them and I haven't given them a timescale. We're in no rush."
