Swansea play hard ball over Bodde

DerbySwansea chairman Huw Jenkins says he is ready to force Derby target Ferrie Bodde to stay at the Liberty Stadium.

Jenkins is refusing to give in over the Dutch midfielder, who is said to be desperate to move to Pride Park and join the Rams, and has twice said as much.

Jenkins likens Swansea's position to that of Manchester United and their battle to keep Ronaldo at Old Trafford in the face of Real Madrid's interest.

Jenkins said: "We can certainly keep a player.

"I think Manchester United have gone on record saying Ronaldo will stay come what may and I think that's what stance clubs should take.

"Our main aim is to make sure the squad is right for the start to the season - that is our priority.

"We will have to deal with the Ferrie Bodde situation that has been created, but from our point of view, there's no rush."
