Winger delighted with Scottish debut

DerbyDerby winger Kris Commons was delighted to have made his Scotland debut in Wednesday night's draw with Northern Ireland.

The Rams winger admitted it had been a hectic few weeks since joining the club from Nottingham Forest but he was delighted to have made his international bow.

"Paul Jewell did make a bit of a joke about it, saying I had only been at Derby County for a month and already he had turned me into an international player," Commons told the Telegraph.

"It has been a bit of a whirlwind, moving to a new club and then getting the call-up.

"But I know that most teams have a lack of depth on the left hand side and maybe that has worked to my advantage."
