Coppinger kops new deal

DoncasterDoncaster midfielder James Coppinger has signed an extension to his deal to keep him at the Keepmoat Stadium until 2011.

The 27-year-old is now hoping Rovers can make their mark in the Championship after winning promotion last season via the League One play-offs.

Coppinger told the club's website: "It's a relief, to be honest. It's been going on for a while and I am just happy to be part of the club and, hopefully, be part of something special next season.

"It's a perfect time for me, at 27 years of age, and with the players that we have here, we can hopefully do well and I can be a part of that.

"I've been here nearly seven years, which I have been delighted at. Hopefully we can now cement our place in the Championship and push on from there. "
