Doncaster moved into the play-off places with a 3-1 win over Carlisle, leaving manager Dean Saunders thrilled.

Goals from Rob Jones and David Cotterill in the space of four first-half minutes set Doncaster on their way to their seventh away win of the season.

And Saunders said: "We've just got to keep pumping the results out and these wins are vital.

"We want to get out of this league as quickly as we can and get back to the Championship. The season is going better than I thought and I'm thrilled to have got the points we have got.

"It's a tight squad and an unselfish group of players and this was a great win for us against a side lacking a bit of confidence."

Saunders praised Cotterill's role in the first goal, saying: "The delivery was excellent and the second was a brilliant individual goal by Cotts (Cotterill), bending it over the keeper into the top corner."
