Doncaster hope skipper Rob Jones will return for the trip to Portsmouth.

Jones missed the home defeat to Bournemouth last Saturday with concussion after suffering a badly swollen forehead during another loss at the Keepmoat Stadium to Crewe four days previously.

Rovers boss Dean Saunders is also hopeful that fellow defender Shelton Martis will be fit after he withdrew from the squad to face Bournemouth on the day of the match with a hamstring problem.

However, Kyle Bennett will remain on the sidelines with a knee injury and the winger is not expected to be fit until the end of the month, while defender Jamie McCombe (back) is a long-term absentee.

Ahead of the trip to Fratton Park, Saunders said: "I'm not surprised we've lost the last couple of games because we've been missing half a team."M
