O'Driscoll offers no excuses

DoncasterDoncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll had no complaints with his side's 1-0 extra-time defeat at Notts County in the Carling Cup first round.

Rovers beat Derby on the opening day of the Championship season but the tables were turned when Myles Weston's 106th minute strike proved decisive at Meadow Lane.

And O'Driscoll concedes the better side won the game on the night.

"In all honesty I think we should have been pleased to see it go to penalties but they got the goal that they deserved," he said.

"We've got to give them some credit because they deserved the victory and we go away with our tail between our legs.

"Everyone in the dressing room is disappointed, especially after Saturday's victory against Derby but the players are an honest bunch and they will hold their hands up and say that the performance wasn't good enough."
