O'Driscoll's cause for optimism

DoncasterDoncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll hopes his side can build on the 1-0 success over Ipswich after 12 games without a win.

Rovers made it a case of 13th time lucky on Saturday thanks to loan defender Shelton Martis who grabbed the only goal of the game.

And O'Driscoll told the club's website: "The players need a pat on the back for perseverance. It's difficult to play the way we want to play when you keep getting beat.

"It wears a bit thin when people say to you 'you played well'. We've kept going and the crowds have been great; nobody has been getting on anybody's backs.

"The players have stuck together and played in great spirit and that is going to stand us in good stead for the rest of the season. We are not going to get carried away, of course, but you couldn't blame the players for having the first Saturday night where they could celebrate a little. It was nice to do it on Sky as well and maybe glimpses showed what we are all about."
