Prem striker bid fails

DoncasterHull legend Dean Windass has turned down the offer of a move to Doncaster on loan and instead wants to stay at the KC.

Despite reported interest from numerous clubs it was Championship strugglers Doncaster who made a concrete move to land the 39-year-old striker but they were told he doesn't not want to leave.

"We had conversations with Phil Brown this week about the availability of Dean Windass," says Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll.

"He'd like to stay at Hull so that was another avenue opened and closed."

Windass has found first-team opportunities difficult to come by at Hull this season and has repeatedly said if he can't get into the side he would consider a move elsewhere, but as yet he has not been able to bring himself to accept any move away from the Tigers.
