Doncaster have moved to address their goalkeeping crisis by signing Tottenham youngster David Button on a one-month loan.

Carl Ikeme and Neil Sullivan have both undergone thumb surgery in recent weeks and are facing extending spells on the sidelines, leaving Gary Woods as Rovers' only remaining senior keeper.

Button, who made his Spurs debut against Doncaster in the Carling Cup two seasons ago, has previously enjoyed loan spells with Shrewsbury, Plymouth and Leyton Orient.

The former England Under-20 international is the third goalkeeper Dean Saunders has signed on loan since becoming Rovers boss in September after Wigan's Chris Kirkland and Wolves' Ikeme.

"With Carl Ikeme and Neil Sullivan both injury and having operations, we have been looking to bring in a keeper for the last month," Saunders told the club's official website.

"David is a good 6ft 3ins experienced, young keeper who has played up to England Under-20 level and in the Football League."
