Rovers eye City raid

DoncasterDoncaster hope to secure the permanent signing of Man City defender Matt Mills this summer with talks pencilled in for next week.

Mills spent time on loan with Rovers last season and Keepmoat Stadium chief Sean O'Driscoll wants him on board for the Championship campaign following promotion from League One.

O'Driscoll told the club's official website: "Matt is keen to come and we have had tentative discussions with his agents and that is ongoing.

"I am due to see him again before the end of next week to try to move it on a little bit further.

"All along, Manchester City have indicated the figure that we would have to pay for Matt and they have stuck by their guns."

OI'Driscoll added: "When we took him on loan and indicated whether there would be a deal in the future, they indicated the figure and we are happy with that."
