Striker returns to Rovers

DoncasterTomi Ameobi is back at Doncaster after his loan spell at Grimsby and is working hard to earn a place in the first-team squad.

The young striker joined the Mariners at the end of September and although things went well early in his month away, a change of manager at Blundell Park has seen him return to the Keepmote Stadium.

Ameobi is now determined to battle hard for a Rovers shirt and the former Leeds man feels the loan move has helped his game.

Speaking to the club's website, he said: "I started in two games whilst at Grimsby and I felt that I did quite well.

"Despite that, the results didn't go the way that everybody with the club wanted them to. A new manager came in and he has said that he wants to try new things.

"I'm back here at Doncaster Rovers now and I am going to work hard and see what happens."
