Flood looks to stem tide

Dundee UtdWillo Flood has admitted Dundee United "weren't at the races" when suffering a 2-0 defeat to Kilmarnock.

United were knocked off third spot in the SPL because of goals from Jamie Hamill and David Fernandez and midfielder Flood held his hands up and admitted the visitors never got going.

"We weren't at the races," the Irishman said. "The boys put on a show on Wednesday and gave Hibs a hammering, so I can see why the gaffer kept the same team.

"I don't think it was fatigue, we just didn't perform. We never got momentum. It was a low tempo game anyway and we just couldn't pick it up."

But he added: "The rest will do us good. It's a week without a game, which is the first time for a long while. So we'll be ready come Hamilton on Saturday."
