Levein makes keeper plea

Dundee UtdCraig Levein has called for goalkeeper Lukasz Zaluska to commit his future to Dundee United, despite interest from other clubs.

The 26-year-old has been offered a new contract by the Terrors but is considering his options, with Celtic and several clubs south of the border said to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Zaluska has admitted he would love to move to Glasgow one day but Levein believes his career would be better served by staying at Tannadice for at least another season.

The manager told the Press & Journal: "Lukasz has been playing really well and because of that we've made him an offer of a new contract which he and his agent are thinking about right now.

"We'll find out if he wants to stay or not. If he doesn't then so be it, that's the way the game works. I've told him the best thing for him is to stay here for a while yet because he's been playing regularly."

Levein added: "I'm not surprised if Celtic or teams in England are interested. Lukasz has been great for us but not any better than we have for him."
