Danny Swanson says Dundee United will be out to make amends for last season's 3-0 defeat when they take on Hearts on the opening day.
The Terrors host Hearts in their first SPL game of the season and will be determined to put in a better display than the one they did at Tynecastle at the end of last term, which effectively ended their hopes of a Europa League place.
Swanson says that 3-0 reverse means the clash with Csaba Laszlo's side has even more meaning.
He said: "It's a cracking fixture to start with. It was a freak result for us to lose 3-0 at Tynecastle near the end of the season but it still hurts.
"True, Hearts were better than us that day but we should not be losing 3-0 to anyone let alone Hearts so it was a sore one."
He added: "That's what effectively killed our hopes of finishing third but hopefully we can turn the tables this time."
