Scott Robertson has revealed his delight and relief that Craig Levein snubbed a move to another club to stay as boss of Dundee United.
The midfielder is looking forward to a return to pre-season training on Friday as the Terrors prepare for the new SPL campaign on August 15. And Robertson will be delighted to see Levein after he was linked to managerial positions at Celtic, Wigan and Aberdeen.
Robertson told the Press Journal: "We saw the manager linked with several jobs over the summer so, of course, you wonder if someone will come in for him.
"It's not a surprise to see his name put forward for big jobs because he's done really well since joining United and is one of the best managers in the country.
"But we don't want him to go anywhere so I'm delighted he'll still be here when we come back.
"He's been a big influence on me and the fact he brought me here means a lot.
"He first tried to sign me when I was just a kid at Dundee and came back for me when my contract was up at Dens Park.
"Working for someone whom you know rates you and who wants to make you a better player is great.
"Hopefully he'll be here for a while yet and will take the club even further forward."
