Reports in Italy suggest that FC Twente defender Douglas could move to Inter Milan in the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old is one of the most highly-rated stoppers in the Dutch top-flight and has attracted the attention of a number of top European clubs.

Inter's Serie A rivals Roma have also been linked with the Brazilian-born star and could rival the San Siro club for his signature in the New Year.

Whether or not Twente boss Steve McClaren allows the former Joinville ace to leave the club is open to question as the Tukkers are currently embroiled in a tussle with PSV at the top of the Eredivisie table.

But money talks in football and it has been reported that Inter's directors have already spoken to their Twente counterparts about securing Douglas's signature at the start of 2013.
