AJ deal drags on

EvertonFulham boss Roy Hodgson still expects to sign Everton striker Andy Johnson as the two clubs haggle over a reduced fee.

The Cottagers want to renegotiate the terms of the £13m deal after Johnson's medical flagged up an old knee injury, but Hodgson does not think it will block the transfer.

He told Sky Sports: "I think the situation is still ongoing. The transfer negotiations are still going on as far as I know.

"I haven't spoken to the chief executive today (Saturday) so I can't tell you more than that. He's the one negotiating with Everton."

Hodgson also confirmed he had "no reason to expect he won't" when asked if Johnson would sign soon.
