Everton left-back Leighton Baines says the side cannot wallow in self pity but must push on and concentrate on their league position.
Everton slipped behind Manchester United into seventh place in the Premier League table on Saturday and their hopes of landing a Champions League place look increasingly slim.
Baines says they must regroup now after going out of the FA Cup to Arsenal and need to win their next two games which are at home to Cardiff and then Swansea to ensure they finish the season strongly.
He told the Daily Post: "We've got a couple of home games now that we know we're capable of winning and that we probably know we must win in terms of having a push for the back end of the season with just the league to focus on.
"We want to finish strongly and those two games will hopefully be a platform we can build on. We've got to get it out of our system.
"It's out job as players and professional footballers to not wallow in it too long and find a way to move on. That starts on Monday."
