Everton midfielder Gareth Barry is desperate to get the nod to make his debut for the side in the clash with Chelsea this weekend.
The 32-year-old has targeted a return to the England set-up as his ultimate goal this season after signing on loan for the entire campaign from Manchester City and to achieve that he knows he has to play on a regular basis for Roberto Martinez's men.
Everton welcome Jose Mourinho's Blues to Goodison Park this weekend and Barry insists he is ready to make his mark and cannot wait to get going for his new club.
"It's a fantastic first game to potentially be involved in but it's the manager's decision because I have not played loads of minutes at the moment," he told the club's official website.
"I feel fit. I haven't missed a day's training and I featured in bits and bobs of the pre-season games.
"The season's well underway now and I've not played but I am confident if asked to play I can do a good job."
