Everton star Tim Cahill is the favourite to pick up Australia's first ever Footballer of the Year award, handed out next month.
The 29-year-old, who has had another inspirational season for the Blues, is among 12 nominees for his country's inaugural PFA award with the ceremony due to take place in Sydney on June 11.
The honour will be voted for by members of the Australian Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) which numbers 300 professional players in the A-League and throughout Europe.
Amongst the other candidates for the accolade are former Liverpool winger Harry Kewell, Celtic striker Scott McDonald, West Ham defender Lucas Neill and Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
