Everton boss Roberto Martinez says recent signing Antolin Alcaraz has settled into life very quickly at his new club.
The Paraguay international has followed Martinez from Wigan this summer and he made his first appearance in a Toffees shirt when coming on as a substitute in Wednesday's 4-1 friendly win over Accrington Stanley.
Martinez is likely to use Alcaraz as his first-choice centre-back in the Premier League in the coming season and he has been impressed with how quickly the defender has settled at Everton.
"It's important he got that first game and got to know his team-mates," Martinez told the club's website. "It feels like he has been with us for a long, long time and he plays with that maturity.
"That is down to the group of players that we have who have welcomed the new signings really well.
"It's pleasing to see Antolin settle in really quickly. That's always a nice sign of a dressing room."
