Everton have dismissed reports they have a pre-contract agreement with Porto manager Vitor Pereira, despite claims to the contrary.
Reports in the Portuguese media on Thursday claimed that Pereira had signed an agreement with Everton two months ago for him to become the new manager at the club.
That has since been denied although he is one of several names said to be under consideration at Goodison Park.
Everton chairman Bill Kenwright and his board are not going to rush an appointment and the new man is not expected to be named until next month.
Meanwhile, Wigan boss Roberto Martinez is to decide on his future at the DW Stadium on Thursday, he is one of the favourites to replace David Moyes at Goodison.
