Coleman misses Stevenage clash

Last Updated: Fri, 24 Jan 2014 09:58

Everton full-back Seamus Coleman is out of Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Stevenage so John Stones is set to start.

Coleman limped off in the 1-1 Premier League draw at West Brom on Monday and the Blues subsequently confirmed he had sustained a "minor soft tissue injury".

Stones came on at the Hawthorns so is expected to slot in at right-back again as Everton aim to avoid an upset against the League One side.

That is the only fresh fitness setback for a Toffees squad still missing Antolin Alcaraz (muscle fatigue), Ross Barkley (broken toe), Steven Pienaar (groin), Gerard Deulofeu (hamstring), Darron Gibson and Arouna Kone (both knee).

Steven Naismith will hope for a start up front while Greek international Apostolos Vellios may also be given a run out by boss Roberto Martinez.
