Phil Jagielka says everything is going according to plan with his recovery from knee surgery and he should return in November.

The England international picked up the cruciate knee ligament injury back in April in the clash with Manchester City and he is not expected to return until November at the earliest but his recovery is still going to plan.

Jagielka admits that he is getting frustrated with being out and now that the players are about to return to training that frustration is likely to increase but he will try to keep smiling.

"Everything is on schedule," Jagielka told the Liverpool Daily Post.

"It's a long process which is starting to get to me a little bit but I've got to keep smiling.

"The rest of the boys will be back in soon enough and they will have some stories and a bit of banter to keep me going for another month or two.

"I've seen 'the Yak' [Yakubu] around, plus 'Bainesy' [Leighton Baines] and Victor [Anichebe] have popped into the training ground as well, but when everyone is back I'm sure the days will go a lot quicker.

"I'm still looking at November. I go to see the specialist in four weeks and he will give me an idea how it is all doing."
