Defender injury worry

Everton will hand a late fitness test to Leighton Baines ahead of the trip to Manchester City after he picked up a hamstring injury.

The England defender struggled through until the end of the draw with Arsenal on Wednesday but is a doubt for the trip to the Etihad and David Moyes will not risk him if he is struggling.

On the plus side, Darron Gibson and Tony Hibbert are fit and available to play after long spells out with injury but striker Nikica Jelavic has been unwell and will be checked before the game.

Skipper Phil Neville is out following recent surgery and he is not expected to return until well into the new year.
