Everton defender John Heitinga has revealed he will not be renewing his contract with the Merseyside club and will look for a new club.
Heitinga joined the Toffees in 2009 after agreeing a move from Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £6.2million, but he insists that he has run his course for the Premier League side.
The Dutch international admitted that although he has enjoyed the majority of his time with Everton, he has been unhappy recently after failing to get a regular starting spot in the side.
The 29-year-old believes that the time may be right to move on as he wants to play in another country before eventually ending his playing days in his homeland.
Heitinga said: "I've had my worst season since I joined.
"I don't want to extend my contract because it would mean they'd be my final club outside Holland.
"I have played in Spain and England, so maybe it's time for somewhere else."
